Mobile Phones Question And Answer

How do I start writing software for mobile phones?

Mobile phones meaning GSM phones, and software meaning application software. I have no clue on how to start writing. i.e languages, SDK, other requirements on my part. I only know the meaning of writing software, but the whole work of converting the ideas in my head to the tangible product is what I don't know. I think I can learn it if I knew the works. I have ideas about some applications that I would like to try out. Thanks for any suggestions you may be able to give me. The applications are network applications.

Writing software for mobile phones can be harder than writing it for a PC, some phones such as smart phones have 2 cpus which you need to take into account, plus most phones wont let you do anything with them, if you are writing software for a phone then you need to really have a Smart phone and id suggest looking into symbian Os, its the operating system most smart phones use. Also Java is a good language to learn as most games use it.
Java is a popular language for mobile phones. However, getting the SDK so the app will support the phone is whole nother hurdle. I would take a look at Macromedia FlashLite. As mobile OS's are progressing, newer technology and software follow. Many phones already support FlashLite and as time passes, more and more will follow. Below is a list of currently supported phones. Note: Flashlite is much like the regular Macromedia Flash. Not that hard to learn. Good Luck!

you should have a look at Mobile Processing it involves writing programs in the processing environment, and transferring them onto your phone.
