google free software Question And Answer
I need a free software that will detect and delete viruses, trojans, and worms?
I have software that blocks new threats, and can scan and tell me of viruses, worms, and trojans that I already had before I downloaded the software, But nothing deletes the old.
I have PC tools spy ware doctor. That i got as a Google.com download pack when I updated and got Firefox.
Any recommendations of good, reliable free softwares?
Answers
antivirus:
Avira (http://www.free-av.com)
AVAST! Home (http://www.avast.com)
AVG (http://free.grisoft.com)
all provide realtime protection and automatic updates, and can remove existing viruses, and any trojans they can detect.
firewall:
Comodo (http://www.comodo.com), or
PC Tools (http://www.pctools.com/firewall), though Comodo will be a bit easier to use.
both will detect attempts by any programs or Trojans to connect to the internet and alert you to their presence, making it easier for you to locate and remove the threats.
Ad-Aware is a good software to detect and kill worms.
Spybot\Spyware Blaster\AVG Anti-Virus\AVG Anti-Spyware\Arovax

As an IE enthusiast, I don't understand the term, "updated and got firefox."
In you current position, since you have software from everywhere, I would think that an online scan would remove any viruses that are on your system. They don't remove spyware, though. You must purchase the software for it to do that.
Panda has ActiveScan on its site.
Very effective.
You will have to allow the download of its activex control for it to work. It is small and just works in unison with the scan.
Tell it scan ALL MY COMPUTER.

I hope this helps.
