Free Software Question And Answer

What makes you decide whether to download a free software?

Many websites offer free download software. Some offer very useful functions that I would like to use, but I am concerned that they may contain spyware/adware. Most of them have a Privacy Policy and claim that their software does not contain spyware/adware. Should I trust them? What makes you decide whether to download a free software?

Because it's free and it lets me evaluate thier product. If it's infected, I notify everyone i can by messaging and sooner or later it will get around and that company will suffer because of it..As a computer user, your opinion can and will matter. John A+ Certified Professional
I'm using a free software called AD Aware which scans for spyware/adware and and enables me to delete them. It's suppose to be the best. So I'm not afraid of such software anymore. Only thing is, I'm not sure if AD Aware scans itself. Just joking !
I look to see if it's recommended at all by CNET.
After you download a free software program, you should run your spy-ware program, and your anti-virus program, that way, you can be sure it is free of a virus, or some sort of spy-ware..Only download the programs, that you need..Don't just download anything that happens to pop up on your screen..Just the ones, that you need..
