download CCleaner.Search in google. Its a system junk files and registry cleaner. Will make ur system faster after u perform a cleanup. And 1 more thing u need to do is to Defrag ur drive. Using windows default defragmantation also ok but I prefer u a better frre 1. "Auslogics Disk Defrag" from www.auslogics.com...LUCKS..
Go on google.com or google.co.uk and type in "auslogics boostspeed", then click on the one that gives you free trial or for free. Download it and use it to make your computer faster. If its a free trial then download it and use it to speed up your computer then uninstall it. After that if you liked that software then go with this formula below : Download --> speed up computer--> uninstall--> download --> speed up computer and so on.
Hi there,CCleaner is a good idea, also click on the link bellow it will take you to a site where there's free stuff to help you and CCleaner as well. Note:steer clear of reg edit programmes or anything that changes your registry.these are OK to start but cause problems later. Also if you haven't done so try downloading FireFox3 its so much faster than internet explorer.
You need to defragment your c drive. It will help.
I'm a computer repair professional. Here are some suggestions. If you don't have some version of Windows (if you're using a Mac or Linux), these answers don't apply to you. My answers are geared towards XP, but are a very good guide for Vista. I wish there was a short answer. There's not. If you have a lot of icons in your task bar (next to your time, and don't forget to click the arrow to see hidden icons if necessary), find out what they are. A lot of programs install other stuff you don't want or need, and some of these programs start automatically every time you start your computer, which causes a longer start-up and then makes your computer slower. You can remove programs with your control panel (which you can get to from the start menu) using the "Add or Remove Programs" tool. [1] If there are programs in your task bar that you want to keep but don't want to have always running, you can usually open the program, go into it's options, and tell it not to start automatically. Switching to Google Chrome as your web-browser will almost always make your browser start and run faster. You can get it at http://chrome.google.com. [2] Visit http://memoryx.com. It will tell you how much memory you have and how much your computer can take, and it will sell it to you at a very good price. [3] It requires you to download an Active X control or a Firefox plug-in, but it's perfectly safe. If you have less than 512 MB of memory OR you have about 512 MB of memory and use programs like Firefox and Microsoft Office simultaneously (or open a lot of browser tabs at once, or want to keep a lot of programs on your task bar), then you are probably using more memory than you have, which means that getting more will definitely speed things up. If you have vista, read 512MB instead of 1GB (twice as much). Go into your anti-virus and spy-sweeper programs' options and see if it is doing an automatic scan on a timer. Change the scan time to a time when your computer is usually turned on but when you are not using it. Schedule your disk fragmentation software to run automatically at a scheduled time when your computer us usually on but you are not using, at least 2 hours away from the time time when your anti-virus program runs. There are programs you can buy which will keep your disk defragmented all the time by working on it in the background whenever you are not using your computer. These means you have another program running (bad) but the good outweighs the bad. I'd look on http://downloads.com. When my clients report gradual slow-downs, it's usually a result of installing more software over time, failing to defragment. Whenever you install software, ALWAYS do an "advanced" or "custom" installation (which is still very easy). If the installer asks you whether you want to install an browser toolbars, status tray icons, or third-party software, Just Say No (unless you really want them). Last but not least, never look at off-color websites using Internet Explorer (no porn or warez). Firefox is a lot safer. Read every pop-up you ever see before click OK. Always say cancel if a pop-up asks you if it can to do something and you don't have a clue what it's talking about. Don't trust pop-ups claiming that you have viruses unless they are from YOUR anti-virus program. The number-one trick is for banners and pop-ups to claim you have viruses to get you to download or "upgrade" a fake anti-virus program which is, in fact, a virus. If you let your computer be the boss of you and just click OK whenever it asks you something, then it's very easy for malicious people to trick you into letting your computer do their bidding.

No free is Best. But you can speed up your pc manual. Here are a few simple tips for maintaining the performance of your PC. Run the Regristryclean up scan See http://toptenantispyware.com/Tune_Up_Center.htm automatically checks your hard disk for any unnecessary files and gives you the option to delete them. You can run the clean up scan if you're only interested in performing a disk cleanup—or you can run the comprehensive full service scan to check for other PC issues as well. Remove unused programs Just because you aren't using a program doesn't mean it isn't consuming resources and affecting your PC's performance. Removing unused programs from your hard disk is an easy way to maintain your system and maximize your available hard disk space. To remove programs you don't need anymore: 1. Click Start, then click Control Panel. 2. In Category View, click Add or Remove Programs, then click Remove a program. 3. Scroll through the list and examine each program. Windows XP lists how often you use a program and what day you last started it. Note: Don't remove anything labeled "Update" or "Hotfix." These things improve the security of your computer. 4. Click a program you no longer need, click Change/Remove, and then follow the prompts to uninstall it. (In some cases, a program may be removed without prompting you further.) You may have to restart your computer after removing a program. After your computer restarts, repeat this procedure to remove more programs. Note: You must be in order to complete these steps. Remove optional Windows components You can remove optional Windows components from your PC to free up space. Many components come standard with Windows, but you may not use them frequently. You can reinstall these components from your Windows CD if you need them later. To add or remove a Windows component: 1. Click Start, then click Control Panel. 2. In Category View, click Add or Remove Programs, then click Add a program. 3. On the left side of the menu, click Add/Remove Windows Components. 4. Follow the instructions in the Windows Components Wizard. Note: You must be in order to complete these steps. Modify System Restore data Windows XP provides the option to restore your PC to a previous state by automatically saving restore information. System Restore continuously monitors your PC for changes, such as file changes, application changes, or installations. System Restore takes a "snapshot" of your PC at a given point in time and then stores each of these snapshots so that you can roll back any changes to a period before you experienced problems. As you can imagine, these snapshots of your whole system take up memory space. You can delete older snapshots that you're sure you won't need in order to clean up your hard disk. To delete System Restore snapshots except for the most recent one: 1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup. 2. Wait while Disk Cleanup calculates free disk space. 3. Click the More Options tab, and then, in the System Restore area, click Clean up….
