I had a laptop bought for me last christmas and it seems to be getting slower and slower.
I was wondering if there is any free downloadable software that will make it faster?

I used to have a free software (which I can't remember the name of), that allowed me to transfer music to and from my iPod without using itunes. I know I could just use itunes, but it's a matter of principle... Anyone know of a similar software? I also know that I can just transfer the music from my computer to the ipod through windows explorer, but I'm looking for something that will transfer playlists too, and that's not possible (as far as I know) through Windows Explorer.
I'v just bought a dual layer external dvd writerbut the nero software it came with wont let me burn to dvd unless i upgrade for £30!!!!!

Many websites offer free download software. Some offer very useful functions that I would like to use, but I am concerned that they may contain spyware/adware. Most of them have a Privacy Policy and claim that their software does not contain spyware/adware. Should I trust them? What makes you decide whether to download a free software?

I have XP Home and it doesn't seem that I have a program that allows me to view pictures when they are sent to me as an attachment in an email. I simply want to click on the picture and be able to view it. No need for editing pictures, etc. Is there a free program that is safe to download for this purpose? Right now jasc software tries to open it but it is a pain and I'd like to replace it.
Thanks for the responses! I found I already had IrfanView on my computer! I guess the problem I was I didn't have it set as the default. I found out on the FAQs from Irfan's site how to change it to the default viewer and I think I am now good! Thanks!!!
